INSTRUCTOR/PRACTITIONER BIOS

Cindy Conlon has completed yoga training (200 RYT) at the White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara, CA, as well as at Yogaview, Chicago IL (300 hours). She has studied yoga and meditation in Pune, India, and continues to deepen her knowledge by attending workshops at holistic health centers such as the Esalen Institute and the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. She holds a Ph.D. in education from Northwestern University and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law. She currently teaches law-related classes for undergraduate students at Northwestern as well as meditation classes at the NU Wellness Center. Her passion is being a guide for others, sharing the gifts of yoga and meditation, and helping members of our community thrive.

 

Dawn Kist is an intuitive and over the years has learned various healing modalities for mind, body and spirit. She is a certified life coach and uses her ability to connect to spirit and divine guidance to improve the lives of her clients. Her journey to heal others has also led her to be a Wellness Advocate for doTERRA Essential Oils and certified in their AromaTouch Technique.

 

Gayle Mason, WHNP-BC, APNP Gayle Mason is a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner. She holds national certifications as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and as a Menopause Clinician. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Hawaii and Master’s Degree in Nursing from Marquette University in Milwaukee. She is also certified in aromatherapy, is a Reiki Practitioner and Earthstone-Gemstone Crystal Therapist. Gayle practices holistically honoring mind, body, spirit and environment. In addition to ordering lab work and having full prescriptive authority, she also encompasses nutrition and supplements in her wellness practice. She practices from a functional medicine perspective, which diagnoses and treats underlying causes of illness rather than just treating symptoms.

Jordan Venem recently graduated from her 200 hour teacher training after practicing yoga asana for nearly10 years. Her class style is based on her knowledge and background in Massage Therapy, anatomy, and body movement. Venem will take you through poses that will promote relaxation and balance your muscles and your mind. Her goal is to create a class to your needs including pain relief, artificial parts modifications, muscle tone, or over all well-being.

 

Sandra Johnson, Owner, began her studies in meditation and yoga in the early 1990’s at the Houston Yoga Institute, one of the first yoga studies established in the United States in the early 1970’s.  As a classical voice performer, her goal was to learn breathing techniques and to limber the body for movement.  Her interest has led her to study many types of body movement and breathing techniques including fifteen years studying dance (ballet, jazz and modern), Eurythmics, and the Alexander Technique.
